Richard King Consultancy, led by Richard King, helps organisations develop and deliver successful projects and programmes. We bring together a wide range of experience and knowledge across regeneration, arts and heritage to deliver award winning projects.

SERVICES

Richard has secured and managed funding from a range of sources including the European Regional Development Fund and the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Richard has developed and delivered a range of arts, heritage and regeneration projects and programmes, with wide ranging experiences both strategic and operational.

Richard has extremely strong project and programme management skills, having led on all aspects of project initiation, development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

Richard is experienced in establishing meaningful monitoring systems, carrying out project reviews and undertaking evaluation of projects.

Richard has experience of working with a range of local, regional and national organisations, across many sectors including: district, borough and county councils, the Heritage Fund, Arts Council England, theatres, museums, arts organisations, consultancies, community groups, artists, developers and private sector companies.

Since establishing Richard King Consultancy, Richard has undertaken a range of freelance contracts.​
Developing and leading a two year project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund to to collect, record and share the heritage of the Sheffield Eagles Rugby League Football League Club.
Developing and managing an innovative, five year, £2.4m programme, working with local communities to protect, preserve and enhance the heritage and environment of the Dearne Valley Area of South Yorkshire.
Focusing on economic development issues in rural areas of the borough of Barnsley. In addition securing and managing a £3m programme of ERDF funding focusing on the development of cultural infrastructure across the borough.
Acting as the Council representative on BURDAP, the Council’s independent design advisory panel.
Managing the implementation of a range of public realm projects and initiatives across Wakefield.
Responsible for supporting the strategic development of the proposed CCBE building and strategic responsibility for the People Making Places programme.
Managing the Cultural Industries Quarter Townscape Heritage Initiative. The scheme aimed to regenerate both the historic environment and economy of this area of Sheffield through a mix of conservation and regeneration funding.
Responsible for the development and implementation of the Council’s Arts and Public Art Strategies. Leading on all aspects of arts development throughout the borough.
Part of the team responsible for the development of Leicester’s successful bid to the second round of the Single Regeneration Budget, resulting in the award of £12m.
Working for a small, locally managed charity, which aimed to improve the quality of life for those who lived and work in the Hillsborough area.

As a result of the wide ranging project management roles Richard has held, he has a variety of transferable skills to suit and benefit different areas of work. He has a particular focus on arts and heritage projects, but enjoys the challenges of bringing his experience to different sectors.
