Richard King Consultancy

Richard King Consultancy was set up in 2018  by Richard King to help organisations develop and deliver successful projects and programmes. He brings together a wide range of experience and knowledge across regeneration, arts and heritage to deliver award winning projects. This includes:

  • Funding Bids
  • Project Development
  • Project Management
  • Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Arts focused projects
  • Heritage focused projects

Richard leads on projects himself, bringing in other colleagues as necessary. He also works as an associate with other individuals or organisations to support them delivering projects.  

Scope

This policy covers the work carried out by Richard King Consultancy and applies to all the goods and services we both deliver and procure. 

Purpose

To provide a guide for the approach to reducing the environmental impact during the course of delivering freelance work. 

Responsibilities

All those working on behalf of Richard King Consultancy will be aware of the Policy and their individual responsibilities in minimising environmental impact during the course of the work. 

Policy

It is recognised that the work undertaken impacts the environment in several ways, principally through:

  • Energy – including the heating, lighting and electricity used, primarily when working from home.
  • Business travel – the impact on the environment from business related travel
  • Waste – including business, food and other waste.
  • Disposal of information communication technology hardware (ICT) – we have an obligation to ensure safe and secure recycling of IT assets in accordance with relevant regulations.
  • Procurement decisions – whether there is a need to purchase items and consideration of how they are purchased.

Richard King Consultancy will aim to:

  • Reduce business travel miles through better journey planning, online meetings, car sharing and the use of public transport.
  • Reduce paper consumption through the primary use of electronic communication and data storage.
  • Ensure that all waste electrical & electronic equipment is reused or recycled where possible.
  • Reduce the amount of waste produced by considering purchasing decisions, and whether items can be reused or recycled, before putting them into the bin.
  • Utilise recycling facilities available to recycle paper, plastic bottles, cans, batteries, waste electrical items and other waste.
